Background
eStreamingMedia is the technology brand of
eCollaboration Corp. eCollaboration was founded in 1999 and began by
developing desktop tools and server software that simplified
creating video based distance learning. In 2001, the company became
an authorized Microsoft Windows Media Services provider and launched
its first release of eStreamingMedia.
In 2002, the company entered into an agreement
with Microsoft to upgrade its eStreamingMedia software to function
with Microsoft Producer for PowerPoint. By providing ‘distance
learning’ functionality for Producer, eStreamingMedia is able to
reach a large market of customers that want to self-author video
eLearning content (Microsoft has downloaded over 3,000,000 copies of
Producer). These customers tend to be organizations that have on
going needs for creating new content such as large organizations
with training departments and training firms.
In early 2004, the company applied for a patent
on its technology. The patent application was published by the US
Patent Office in July 2006 and is currently pending.
In 2005, the company began selling through
video production and eLearning technology firms (i.e., “dealers”).
This enables the company to provide a turnkey or complete solution
to customers that have occasional content development requirements.
Example of these customers are associations which typically produce
eLearning content at conferences and seminars and organizations that
have traditionally used instructor led classroom training.
